Zwillinge (“Twins”) – exhibition video
2001 | 4:3 PAL, dual channel installation, no sound, loop | 00:22:00
On each of two projections, a very slow camera pan over the facade of an office high-rise is shown. The buildings are constructed opposite to each other. The movement of the camera precedes very slowly and uniformly, however not machine-like. It shows the view of an individual through the camera-pan managed by hand. The expectation of the continuation and the goal of the pan is retarded by the slow movement. Occasionally humans show up and sag into the depth out of the visible area of the screen by the inevitable continuum of the camera movement, not arriving at the designation of the pan. In the increasing slope of the camera view angle, an end, the redemption of the waiting gets indicated.
